Nityananda - hamsa or himsa

First time in the history of world television a soft porn movie being screed at the insistence of General Public.
The above tag line was the only missing factor about an indecent incident happened a while ago and candidly but menacingly photographed by a crooked fellow eventually leaked out to the starving media. The only drawing factor in this whole episode is both the male and female involved in a legally allowable compromising position (read sexual act) is a so called saint and erstwhile actress.
The Nityananda - Ranjitha combo created a stir like the immensely popular ipl and the trp ratings skyrocketed for Sun news for two days in succession and the news papers run amok with the photographs of the said act with explicit details about it.

It is other thing the whole of tamilnadu watched the scenes in horror coupled with anticipation. But a question lingers in my mind about what the news channel and media in general tried to establish by it? The harmony on most of the homes already got lost by the so called mega serials, where in the adultery was adulated, bigamy was blessed, any act of criminality was given undue importance. When logic takes a back seat mind become polluted and unclean. The silt like dirty images occupied the already confused mind the telecast adds more dirt.

What happened between the duo is viewed as wrong only by those who trusts both are beyond such acts. Blaming only the actress only by her profession leaving the tainted saint go scot free is again a wrong thing. Of all the person who is more affected by this whole episode is Ranjitha. No one seems to be in sight even in her own film fraternity to raise a voice against the powerful media most of whose survival become a question mark without the shine and sheen of the ever glamourous filmdom. Probably they will come out with their "voice" once the dust settled over.

This is written not to raise question about who is wrong, but what is wrong with the people who blindly believe who ever speaks well in some two or three languages, with a saffron clad, live in ultra modern hutments, with thousands of followers of them the westerners in huge numbers. Do they ever think of their act of worshipping a fellow human being only because of the above skills which are easily acquired rather than a birth quality.

The millionaires who spend millions of rupees and dollars on the development of ashrams, swamijis, and their so called spiritual sojourns. They can very well spend the amount in establishing lots and lots of industries, provide employment to lakhs of unemployed youths, who were lured by this magnetic charisma for spiritual gurus and indulge in lewd act once established. The amount could well be spent to feed millions of poverty ridden villages, for their life time. Why dont they think on those lines? That is because the money spent may not be accounted money or they have become filthy rich and they developed a distaste for money and they involve in just throw away the money in the name of spiritual activity to some trusts developed aiming on this aspect alone. is that right?

All said and done the media once again dramatised an event of little consequence to any individual in particular except provide fodder for their voyeuristic appetite. But one thing for sure, everyone watched the television and read the paper must have felt ashamed about themselves as a soft porn movie was screened in their very drawing rooms watched by father, mother, wife, sons and daughters, and elders. They will think twice before watching such an episode in the future. As we are all suffered by Ghajini syndrome ( STML ) we tend to forget this episode at the earliest incident happens next.

If the next ones involved are satyananda or some other notable or notorious men or women we concentrate on their lives happily forgetting the nityananda who will roam with parama hamsa or eternal happiness and come back in different AVATAR.

Long live these" people who teaches the public something valuable every time they conduct some offense. But will we ever learn to think on our own and act accordingly...

only time will tell.

my take on aayiraththil oruvan

Thinking of creating a magnum opus like mckennas gold, mummy, raiders of the last ark is one thing. but sandwiching the best scenes of the movies into one and add a native language to it is next to insane.
AO is just that effort. the pre release hype and the longest of wait came to a halt and the end product is totally mediocre. Sure there wont be any of this kind in tamil cinema but actually tamil cinema doesnt need such a film with abusing lead characters showcasing their verbal and physical attributes is simply hard to digest.

The plenty of blood and gore shown aesthetically in torontino movies is really a pain here to watch. Partibans antics, remaas overtures, exhibition of body more than brawn, a hapless karthi just watching the proceedings with a hurt feelings, and a zombie like walk thro the act by andrea u can list number of negatives. Technically it is ok but we still had to go a long way. Especially the 12th century chola episode reveals about what a genius kamalhaasan is when we recall the same period in dasavathaaram.

is he depicting the plight of tamils in srilanka as a surrealistic feature of the film, strangely i have a feeling it is about them only.

Better selvaraghavn woke up from the over hype showered upon and him started making meaningful and psychological drama which he is famous for.

all said and done 5004 feet of cinema and 3.15 hours is tooooooooooooolong a movie to sit through.

better luck selva. dudes avoid family viewing if at all you want to see the movie first...
